BE-ST Educator Programme 24/25
Supporting Educators to adopt a competency-based approach to education
The BE-ST Educator Programme 24/25 is a six-month agile leadership course aimed towards college management and educators with a built environment focus within Scotland. The course aims to support educators with upskilling within new practices, developing competencies to aid the delivery of their role and providing tangible solutions to support the tertiary education sector.
We are welcoming applications from candidates looking to develop their technical knowledge and leadership experience in the sector.
Through peer-to-peer learning, practical training, and input from guest speakers, you will by the end of the course have:
- Identified your leverage as an educator to move beyond skills development into competency-building
- Enhanced your practical skills to deliver training in a more agile way, building a more resilient and innovation-minded future workforce
- Gained knowledge of different strategies to align student competency with rapid changes in the built environment.

The Educator Programme welcomes applicants who:
- Work in the college sector (educators and/or management) focusing on environment and construction.
- Live and work in Scotland.
We are looking for diversity, curiosity, and passion from our applicants to the Educator Programme.
The application process includes questions designed to learn why you want to join the Educator Programme and how you will use the competency gained from the programme in your professional role to drive change.
The programme provides an opportunity to build networks with educators who are curious and passionate about making change. Most of the training sessions take place in our Innovation Factory, so you will also be able to practically engage with some of the edge-cutting solutions driving sustainability in Scotland.
Knowledge exchange will take place both within and outwith the education sector, as we have invited a diverse range of speakers with unique experiences of what it means to adopt an agile approach in order to move from skills to competency.

- 24 February 2025
- 17 March 2025
*All meetings will take place in-person at the BE-ST Innovation Campus in Blantyre, except for the first meeting planned for 21st October which will be held over Microsoft Teams.
We are looking for educators from diverse backgrounds - regardless of ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender, marital status, age, disability, sexual orientation, or political beliefs - who are curious to find new ways to build competency in relation to the built environment and sustainability.
