Douglas Morrison

Deputy CEO

Douglas Morrison is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Built Environment – Smarter Transformation (BE-ST), Scotland's national innovation centre and launchpad to a zero-carbon built environment. 

 

Douglas has spent most of his career in the tertiary education sector.  With a passion for innovation, he is an accelerator of solutions that tackle environmental issues, a leader in the equity and inclusion space, and contributor to digital learning development.

 

He is a member of the Young Academy for Scotland, a Fellow of the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, and member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s Education Committee.

 

Douglas remains active in the education sector as Vice Chair of the Board at South Lanarkshire College, Deputy Chair of the Decarbonisation of Heat Group at Skills Development Scotland, and member of the Climate Emergency Skills Action Plan Implementation Group. He is also an ambassador for Circular Glasgow and a member of the Construction Leadership Forum.

 

In his spare time, Douglas enjoys reading, learning, walking, yoga and, most of all, spending quality time with his wife and two children.
