Zarja Krevelj

Architectural Technologist, HLM Architects

1. What made you interested in working in the Built Environment?

I was always interested in spaces and as a 6 year old girl I used to draw plans of different imaginary buildings. Through high school I started being interested in maths and physics so architectural technology seemed like the next logical step for me.

2. Why did you join the Built Environment Change Makers?

I see a great potential in the construction sector, however there is a great need for change in the way we build and live. Being a change maker enables me to push for a change along with other passionate individuals in the group.

3. What are your top 3 knowledge areas that you are bringing to the Built Environment Change Makers?

  • Mass timber
  • offsite manufacturing
  • natural building materials

4. What are you hoping to achieve?

I hope to work towards gaining more knowledge of how building standards are written and why there is such a big discrepancy between the government objectives and regulations. I hope to work on the solution and bring the 2 together.
