1. What made you interested in working in the Built Environment?
I became interested in the built environment due to its direct impact on shaping how people live, work, and connect with their surroundings. The opportunity to design infrastructure that not only improves physical and mental well-being but also contributes to sustainability and local economic growth inspired me to pursue a career in this field. I’m passionate about creating spaces that foster healthier, more vibrant communities through innovative and accessible design.

2. Why did you join the Built Environment Change Makers?
I joined the Built Environment Change Makers because I want to play an active role in shaping the future of the industry, particularly in advocating for sustainable, people-centered design. My experience in active travel infrastructure has shown me the potential for change that positively impacts communities, and I’m eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals to influence policy and drive innovation. This platform offers the chance to contribute to critical conversations and initiatives that can make a lasting difference.

3. What are your top 3 knowledge areas that you are bringing to the Built Environment Change Makers?

  1. Active Travel Infrastructure Design: My expertise in designing cycling and walking infrastructure helps create spaces that prioritise accessibility, safety, and sustainability.

4. What are you hoping to achieve?
I hope to drive meaningful, lasting change in how we design and develop our built environments, particularly in promoting sustainable, inclusive infrastructure. By actively contributing to BE-ST’s initiatives, I aim to advocate for the needs of both current and future generations, ensuring that young professionals like myself have a voice in shaping the future of the industry. My goal is to continue influencing projects that prioritise people and the environment while helping attract diverse talent to the field.
