BE-ST’s Innovation Campus and a collaboration of leading academics, SMEs and supply chain partners have been working together to transform the UK construction industry by using the sustainably-managed and renewable natural resources of our Scottish forests to create engineered products to complement or replace more carbon intensive structural engineering materials. 

The Commercialisation of Mass Timber project required a group of mutually benefiting and experienced stakeholders to provide direction and guidance for the research and to enhance supply chain resilience, optimising long-term net zero investment in homegrown mass timber components.

GenZero is a project to create new, improved design standards for school buildings with the aim of making them net zero.

SNRG is manufacturing the first cross-laminated, nail-laminated, and glue-laminated timber housing unit using materials grown and harvested in Scotland. The finished structure was demonstrated at BE@COP26.
