    At our BE-ST Campus in Hamilton, we have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant with a passion for all things accounting and digitisation, an eye for detail and a data driven mindset. You’ll take a hands-on approach working with budgets, our accounting system as well as dealing with project expenditure and income.

    About the Role

    As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of BE-ST. You’ll ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, supporting both operational delivery and strategic decision-making.

    You’ll be involved in a wide range of activities including:

    • Processing invoices, purchase orders and supplier payments

    • Maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries

    • Supporting project teams to monitor income and expenditure

    • Reconciling accounts and resolving financial queries

    • Assisting with procurement processes in line with public sector regulations

    • Supporting audit preparation and ensuring compliance with financial procedures

    You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement, helping to enhance systems, strengthen financial

    controls, and develop efficient, user-friendly processes.

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re looking for someone who is:

    • Detail-oriented, organised and proactive

    • Confident working with financial systems

    • Experienced in bookkeeping or transactional finance

    • Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders

    • A strong communicator with a collaborative mindset

    • Interested in improving processes and finding smarter ways of working

    An HND (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting is essential, along with strong Excel and IT skills.

    Additional Information

    Salary: £26,093 - £28,031 per annum (Grade 3) calculated pro rata- starting salary, subject to annual pay increases until scale maximum of £31,236, as well as cost of living increases)

    We’re currently operating a hybrid working model (Minimum 2 days in the office). Therefore you will be required to work at our BE-ST campus in Hamilton (find us here).

    Please note, interviews will take place at our campus in Hamilton.
