Hacking the Housing System
£0.00

The flagship event that will bring to a close BE-ST Fest 2025, explores the innovation we need to adopt at a system scale, to help us tackle the housing emergency, and deliver better, faster, more affordable housing regeneration solutions.

Scotland remains in the grip of a national housing emergency, 18 months since it was formally declared (although decades in the making). We need to embrace system scale innovation to drive efficiencies in the housing system from investment and planning, through design and specification, to manufacturing and construction delivery, skills and supply chain transformation, to name but a few, that can enable better, faster, more affordable housing to be delivered at pace across Scotland. In the current climate, the discourse seems to be; we can either have housing that is better and faster, but it’s not affordable, or housing that is faster and more affordable, but it can’t be better. How can innovation help us have all three?

The event will be split into two key areas of focus:

  • Morning: How innovation can deliver better, faster, more affordable homes for the people of Scotland.

  • Afternoon: Scaling innovative approaches: a workshop to identify partners, clients and routes to scaling.

Speakers include:

  • Stephen Good, BE-ST

  • Lord Willie Haughey, City Premier Properties

  • Nicola Barclay, BE-ST

  • Jonathan Smales & Joanna Yarrow, Human Nature

  • Nicola Douglas, Scottish National Investment Bank

  • Jocelyne Fleming, CIOB

Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025 | 9.30am-4pm.

Location: The Exchange, Glasgow
