Introduction to Safe Timber Frame Installation Operations

This learning scenario introduces learners to the principles of safe timber frame installation within off-site and modern methods of construction (MMC) environments. The intervention focuses on developing awareness of the operational, environmental, and behavioural safety considerations associated with timber frame lifting, handling, sequencing, temporary stability, and installation activities.

Delivery adopts a blended learning approach combining classroom-based teaching, guided discussion, visual learning materials, and scenario-based practical activities. Learners will engage with real-world examples, site imagery, interactive knowledge checks, and simulated operational scenarios to reinforce understanding of safe working practices within timber frame erection environments.

This scenario is designed for delivery online and/or in person. Presentation and activity briefs for tutors and learners have also been prepared and are available to support delivery. This gives tutors flexibility in how they structure delivery.
