Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. One of its key focuses is tackling ageism in the workplace and ensuring that employees of all ages feel respected, valued and able to fulfil their aspirations and potential.

The Fairness, Inclusion and Respect Programme, FIR for short, is an industry-led initiative aiming to make workplaces in construction and the built environment better for everyone.

On International Women's Day this year, alongside celebrating impactful women in the built environment, we want to look at diversity and inclusion in the sector in Scotland as a whole and assess the community, how we can accelerate the rate of change and what we can do now to make a difference.
