Employee Ownership in Construction

This event is open to companies, as well as other interested parties, operating in the construction sector in Scotland. It is estimated that one in five disposals in the construction field are to Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs), primarily as a result of succession planning. This event will look at ownership succession and how the EOT is proving to be an attractive and effective ownership structure.

Hosted by BE-ST at their state of the art facility in Hamilton, attendees will hear from three firms in the construction sector who have taken the employee ownership route and will talk about what has worked well and what they might have done differently.

Glen Dott, Specialist Adviser at Co-operative Scotland (CDS), part of Scottish Enterprise, will give an overview of the growth of the employee ownership sector, particularly in construction and explore the options open to business owners. He will also talk through the support Scottish Enterprise can offer.
