Natalie Bushell
Course: MSc Environment Management
Natalie, a Traditional Building Materials trainee and Geology graduate, gained a strong interest in the Scottish slate industry. Her project initially arose from working with Historic Environment Scotland and looked to research the environmental benefits and costs of re-roofing Scottish traditional buildings (and roofing new builds) in slate and comparing this to the alternative products over the lifetime of the building.
At first I was unsure if the project idea I had would fit with the CSIC scholarship programme but from seeing previous testimonials I decided to just go for it and apply - and I'm so glad I did! The support has been excellent and the experience of working with an industry partner will be very useful for my future career. Natalie BushellMSc Environment Management
